How To Remove Fake Lashes

Applying your false eyelashes correctly can take a while to perfect, but once you know how to do it, carefully removing them is the next important step. Knowing how to properly remove your fake lashes is key to keeping both your natural lashes and false lashes in good condition.

This is how to remove fake lashes:

  1. Run your cotton bud along lash line
  2. Peel lash strip away
  3. Remove excess glue and makeup from eye
  4. Remove excess glue from fake lashes
  5. Store them safely

1. Run your cotton bud along lash line

The first step is to loosen the eyelash glue. Soak a cotton bud or pad in an oil-based makeup remover or an oil such as coconut or almond oil. Next, close your eyes and run the bud along your lash line to soften the adhesive

Always be careful not to get any make up remover or oil in your eyes. If you do, make sure you wash out the area thoroughly with clean, cold water.

2. Peel lash strip away

Now you can hold the lash strip by the outer corner and carefully peel the strip away from your real lash. We recommend using tweezers or a quality lash applicator to assist you.

Remember to go slow and gently lift the fake eyelash as you work inwards. If you feel any pinching or resistance, apply more makeup remover or oil and wait a little longer before trying again.

3. Remove excess glue and makeup from eye

Once the lash is removed, soak a cotton pad in makeup remover and wipe it across your eyes to get rid of any glue residue and the rest of your eye makeup.

4. Remove excess glue from fake lashes

Next, you want to remove excess glue from the base of your fake lashes. This step is key if you’re looking to reuse your falsies. After peeling off the remaining glue, your lashes are ready to be re-glued for next use.

We also recommend brushing your fake lashes with a spoolie brush to remove any additional residue and help to keep your lashes separated and fluffy!

5. Store them safely

Now your lashes are clean, safely store them in their original packaging and ensure they’re kept in their original position to help maintain natural shape.
